Middlebury Pediatric Dentistry

Bread Loaf Corporation worked with Middlebury Pediatric Dentistry, a family-owned and operated business, to design and build a new children’s dental practice in Middlebury, Vermont. The facility features a state-of-the-art, energy efficient dental facility with four open operatories and two private operatories.

The building is prominently located along Route 7 in central Middlebury, making this building an important architectural gateway building to the town. Bread Loaf took great care in working with the Owner and Town to ensure the design solution fit their needs while creating a friendly, open and welcoming facility for families and their children. Local materials were selected for the

exterior of the building for their durability and contextual sensitivity, creating a modern Vermont vernacular aesthetic.

The building construction required detailed MEP coordination to accommodate the dental equipment vendor, under-slab piping and other specialized dental equipment. The building features a grand entry porch for natural shading, multiple windows for daylighting and transparency, a three-part building form to divide distinct building functions from public to staff

areas, and a large, open entry and waiting area to welcome clients. Interior features include LED lighting, natural and environmentally friendly finishes, and colorful and family friendly paint colors, flooring and furniture.
