National Bank of Middlebury
Summary
The National Bank of Middlebury engaged Bread Loaf to design and construct a new 2,800-square-foot branch in Hinesburg, Vermont. The facility includes a drive-up ATM and two drive-up teller lanes, all protected by a canopy. The building’s exterior complements the character of Commerce Park and fits well within the surrounding context.
Exterior lighting is designed to limit off-site glare and light pollution. The site layout carefully separates vehicle and pedestrian traffic, providing clear sight lines and adequate space for vehicle turning movements.
The building incorporates a high-performance insulation system and energy-efficient features such as an optimized building envelope, efficient heating and cooling systems, and energy-saving lighting. Control systems are designed to maintain comfort for employees and customers while maximizing energy efficiency.
