The Automaster

Bread Loaf Corporation has maintained a long-standing partnership with The Automaster, Shelburne, Vermont’s premier luxury automobile dealership, beginning with the design and construction of its original facility in 1984. Over the years, Bread Loaf has completed multiple expansions and renovations across the dealership’s growing campus, reflecting both evolving brand needs and increasing customer demand. 

The Automaster campus expanded northward with the addition of a dedicated building for the Porsche dealership and The Automaster Spa—a state-of-the-art facility specializing in premium vehicle cleaning and detailing services. 

A new stand-alone building was constructed to house the BMW dealership. The facility includes a prominent exterior display area designed to showcase the brand’s full vehicle lineup. 

Using Bread Loaf’s Integrated Design Build approach, the Mercedes-Benz showroom was fully renovated, and a new service drive-through was added. The addition features a glass curtain wall and sleek metal panel system, aligning with the modern aesthetic of the brand. 

To meet growing service demands—averaging 120 vehicles daily—Bread Loaf delivered a complex service addition while keeping existing operations fully functional. The project required meticulous planning, including phased scheduling and a temporary traffic system using diversion barriers to ensure uninterrupted customer access throughout construction.
