Landmark College Science, Technology & Innovation Center

Bread Loaf delivered Integrated Design-Build services for the design and construction of Landmark College’s new Science, Technology, and Innovation Center. As the nation’s premier institution of higher education for students with language-based learning differences—including dyslexia, ADHD, and autism spectrum disorders—Landmark College is redefining how STEM education is taught and experienced. The new Center advances this mission, transforming STEM instruction for students who learn differently while serving as a dynamic hub for education and research on campus.

The 28,500-square-foot facility integrates cutting-edge teaching technologies within an open, contemporary environment designed to foster collaboration and discovery. The main entrance and lobby create a welcoming gateway to campus, visually and physically linking the west campus entrance with the main academic quad.

The Center houses a wide range of learning spaces, including wet and dry natural science labs, an innovation lab, flexible labs and classrooms for mathematics and computer science, a 45-seat seminar room, and a Universal Design for Learning (UDL) classroom. Sustainable features include daylight harvesting in classrooms and offices, highly insulated walls and roofing, LED lighting, an electric vehicle charging station, and a rooftop photovoltaic array. Real-time monitoring of the building’s energy use is displayed in the lobby, underscoring Landmark’s commitment to environmental stewardship and hands-on learning.
