Orvis Retail Flagship Store
Orvis Retail Flagship Store
The Orvis Company, renowned for its fly-fishing equipment and outdoor apparel, envisioned a flagship store in Manchester, Vermont, that would bring together two essential elements: nature and its customers.
To realize this vision, Bread Loaf incorporated wood, stone, iron, and water to create a rustic elegance that embodies the Orvis brand. Native pine, cedar, and locally quarried stone root the building in its natural landscape. A trout-filled pool flows seamlessly from the interior to the exterior casting ponds, while a wood-burning fireplace with a soaring thirty-foot stone chimney welcomes visitors on chilly days. Expansive gable-end windows frame views of the Green Mountains, and broad stair landings invite moments of pause, reflection, and storytelling.
The flagship store captures the spirit of an Adirondack great camp—immersing visitors in the Orvis lifestyle and its timeless connection to the outdoors.
