People's United Bank

South Village Green

People’s United Bank engaged Bread Loaf to design and construct a new 12,000-square-foot office and branch building in Middlebury, Vermont. The result is a two-story brick structure featuring stone detailing, natural wood accents, and a distinctive copper roof. The building’s scale and materials were carefully selected to harmonize with the residential character of Court Street, while also complementing the civic and commercial architecture of the village center.

Demonstrating a shared commitment to community and environmental stewardship, People’s United Bank and Bread Loaf collaborated to incorporate sustainable design strategies, ultimately achieving LEED™ Certification for the project.
